Why choose Takamaka ?

🧭 In hydrospeed, it's just you and the river, so the quality of your guide makes all the difference. Our state-certified guides swim the Chalaux and the Cure right alongside you, from the first rapid to the last, and teach you how to read the current, position yourself and stay safe. 🛡️ We provide reinforced neoprene wetsuits and helmets built for the knocks and chill of these granite rivers, and we never overload our groups. 🏠 Our riverside base has hot showers and changing rooms waiting for you afterwards. 🌍 All backed by over 30 years of experience across the Takamaka network in whitewater. FAQ

Is hydrospeed dangerous?

It's an active sport, but closely supervised: helmet and reinforced wetsuit, a full briefing before you start and a state-certified guide beside you the whole way.

What's the minimum age for hydrospeed in the Morvan?

From age 12, for fit, confident swimmers.

What's the difference between hydrospeed and rafting?

In rafting, six or seven of you share a boat. In hydrospeed, you're on your own board, in the water: it's more intense and more physical.

Do I need whitewater experience?

It's not required, but we recommend trying rafting first to get a feel for the river.

Is there a weight limit for hydrospeed?

Yes, we recommend a maximum weight of 110 kg.

How much does hydrospeed cost?

From €59 per person. You can book online, and ANCV holiday vouchers are accepted.

What happens if it rains?

We go anyway: you're getting wet regardless!

Can I get photos of my run?

Photos and videos are available for rafting trips and quad tours.
